Thread: Tight Fit

Things are better now. I wiped down the two halves and sprayed the two halves with lots of silicon lubricant and pushed them together. They stuck. I placed a boom on each half and rotated the top half. It made a squeaky sound. The rotation gradually became easier. I could get the two halves apart. It silicon lubricant had formed a black paste, with what I assume are "carbon particles". I wiped this off. I repeated the process. The fit now tight, but it no longer jams.

I would be very careful using any type of lubricant! Personally, I wouldn't do it. It might have an adverse effect on the resin composite. Clean it all off by wiping down with soapy water. Then wash off the soap.
