Here's a nice little lake video – this time from the Zeekovlei, filmed on Go Pro on a UCT open day.
To my shame, I have never sailed the Zeekovlei. But it's a popular windsurfing place for freestyle windsurfing is southern areas, and for University students. This space is kept clear for random notes, reminders, or a shopping list.

Cape Town is still delivering the goods. 3m waves and 30 knot winds on Monday, 20-25 knots yesterday in Milnerton and gusts over 60 knots (with average over 40 for the day) at Cape Point. My Boards: 2014 Patrik Slalom 115 vII, 2014 Patrik Slalom 92, 1992 Windsurfer One Design, 2012 Fanatic Freewave 85l, 2013 Fanatic Gecko 105l

This is a real treat to watch for us Cape Town fans, even though it's about dinghy sailing.
Every year, I leave Cape Town just s preparations are underway for the annual MAC 24hr Challenge race – where the dinghy crews come to the Rietvlei lake to race all night, with families camping out on the sailing club lawns.
This year's event saw light winds but the camera work here is stunning at times, and soo-oh captures the summer heat of the lake and the fun that is to be had, whatever your sport.

Good to hear that the Cape Town summer wind machine has been working right through March – with just the usual dips in the cycle. And with less crowds on the water!

What an amazing day! Our field team encountered 5 orca (killer whales), 5 great whites - & satellite tagged a large male, a large pod of common dolphin, seals feeding at the surface & African penguins. All in a days work! #saveourseas #LoveFalseBay

The Cape Town windy season is nearly over but, for those of us missing the place, here's a stunning video which captures the beauty of the Cape so well.
The use of the drone camera is what makes the imagery stand out for me – as you don't get a more dramatic landscape than that fund around Table Mountain. Plus there are animal shots also caught in close up, again filmed from the air, although they will have been taken away from Cape Town itself (as the credits at the end reveal).
Thanks to Boardseeker for the heads up on this one. And thanks to Olya and her boyfriend Kirill for filming it.
