    marry a spaniard...

just one thing to add here - in Summer there is wind. When the high pressure dominates the wind comes from the NE and there is a thermal effect that accelerates it particulalry on the beaches around Ferol. I have been going there for years (spanish wife) and July / August can be great. Also because of the location and exposure to the Atlantic you dont need much of a swell to get good waves. This summer we had a series of cross shore 5.0 days in logo high waves at Doninos (in August.)

Bumped into some of the 7Oceans guys at Praa sands recently and they described it as Cornwall on steroids...which is about right

I've done surfing road trips there. Fabulous part of world, and living in Cornwall, it is like home from home with wind and waves. May time seemed like loads of wind and waves as lows track through the Biscay. In my experience, west coast of Iberian peninsula can be flatish in 'normal' summers.
