Welcome, glad you're keen. I'm sure there's loads of people can help from this forum but lots of questions need answering first.

    1. What's your idea of "got the hang of it"? Are you still at the stage of uphauling (pulling the sail out of the water), able to sail back and forward across the wind with a turn each end (tack or gybe) or are you beyond that?

    2. What's the board to be used for? Family? Just you?

    3. Where's the board going to be used? (Lake, sea, both? Other!)

    4. How big (weight) are you? This will make a lot of difference to what kit will be recommended.

    5. Where do you want your windsurfing to lead? Are you desperate to get onto smaller boards in stronger winds? Happy just enjoying lighter winds etc.etc.

Come back with a few clues and I'd imagine you'll get some answers!

Oh, and you tell us where you are you may even find that there's clubs or schools close by that can offer hire deals or something that'll get you on the water whilst you're looking for kit.

I will get the size of the board and stuff later on when I have figured it out.

i go windsurfing in poole harbour and hill head which is in the sea.

the board is for me only.

I go sailing up and down the place and turn at each end.

and smaller boards and stronger winds.

Plenty of people on here sail at both those places and a number of good shops that could help you out with s/h or ex demo kit.

Try FC Watersports or H20 in Poole - http://www.fcwatersports.co.uk/ or http://www.h2o-sports.co.uk/home-page - down in Poole or Andy Biggs in Gosport (about 5 miles from Hill Head) http://www.andybiggs.co.uk/

There's also two excellent shops in between them on the Western side of Southampton water - 4boards at Fawley and 24/7 at Calshot. http://www.24-7boardsports.com/ or http://4boards.co.uk/

Personally, I'd speak to the guys at one of the Poole shops or 24/7 and see what kit they have. 24/7 are top guys and, being right next to the Solent, will probably give you the opportunity to have a try out of kit.

Otherwise it's a case of putting a bit more detail to your answers and seeing if we can help through the classifieds on here.
