    Default New Distance Record

    Hi from down under!

Local sailor and member of the Inverloch Windsurfing Club, Craig "Kato" Hollins recently broke the 24 hour distance record.
Craig sailed 14 hours continuous to clock up over 500 kilometres....

Here's a link to a video we put together. Enjoy!

That was one massive effort to do 500km at an average of over 18kts. Would be interesting to see your stats for the day. I guess you were aching all over the next day and kept off the water for a while?! Great achievement!

The record run can be viewed here http://www.gpsteamchallenge.com/sail...-02-12&team=16 My body survived really well and just ended up with two blisters (One for each hand). I trained a lot more for this one and it payed off. I had to return to work the next day and assist with controlling the bushfires. I was back in the water after my 10 day shift had finished. Next time I ,ll run for a full 24hr, run the lights and take that the next week off. It will be interesting to see what Dutch sailors come up with over the summer. Thanks for your interest,Craig
