Thanks for all the input everyone. I'm not really paying attention to the brand mentions, as I'm pretty sure I've got a handle on where they sit on the fit scale. I also can't go travelling round the country to get them, but I didn't realise that Brighton had a S&R. Also interesting that they will heat mould them and still take them back. The London store wasn't budging on that even though I thought the process was reversibe. I'm going to wait till the Thirty Twos come in and then try them vs the K2 and Vans and probably take the plunge from there. I'm really surprised that those two stores make a big thing about their ski boot fitting and have measuring machines for that, but snowboarding boots are fitted like you are buying trainers. A few years agon when I rented kit in France, they measured my feet, weight, the distance from my ankle to knee - I was expecting a bit of technology to come into play. Sadly, it seems snowboarding customers prefer a few facial piercings and some surf speak instead.

You don't need such exact fitting of soft snowboard boots..
For what it's worth I have a wide foot and found the new Nike Zoom Force to be a brilliant fit, all day comfortable on and off the board. Pretty much like every boot I've owned with the exception of my last pair - Vanns - which were awful. They felt fine in the shop but were agony after an hour on the hill.
My other favourite boot was a pair of Nitros , can't remember what model but the were like slippers in comfort but gave all the control and feel you needed.

( also can't see past Flow bindings, all that farting about with cranking up flappy buckles is a waste of time)

Right, purchase made. Thanks for all the advice. Went for the K2's. Let's hope they turn out to be good. Off on Saturday, so don't have long to wait before I find out!
