    Default thursday 29th nov

Decided to use this light wind day to practice some fundamentals that i´ve never checked out. I have been sailing nothing but sinkers since I learned how to waterstart some long time ago. Now I´ve had a 100L freestyle board for a little over a year and It really has provided me with a ton of sailable days. Today I worked on the helitack a trick i´ve only tried in powered conditions and with little success. First tries were horrible but I slowly improved and after about an hour my hit rate was probably around 50%. I wasn´t expecting too have lots of fun today and thought of it more as a training day for days with more wind but I really enjoyed myself. I will try to go out more often in light winds to practice on different stuff, will probably pay of sooner then later.

Well I try to stick to sailing above the 0c mark and most sessions are between 0-4c during winter, but I find that going a little below zero can also be ok for about an hour or so.

Thanks for your blog Rod, motivated me to go for my first loop attempt!

Well done Rexi, Iceland has got to be a bit cooler than here (if the name means anything).

50% is a good result for a first day of helitacks!
