    Who was there in may?
    What about waves?
    What kind of wave?

May? Very early for the Mediterranean.

Unreliable wind. Go in July or August.

Better to hit France in May, you'll have more chances for strong wind...Almanarre/Six-Fours/Marseille...Also Corsica(Algajola) or Sardinia in Italy are possible destinations...Greece isn't a good destination at that time, as guys above said.

I lived in Kavala for a couple of years and did the drive from Northern Greece to Northern Turkey and down to Canakale or across to Marmara island almost every other week. Although most of Northern Greece is windless most of the year the Dardanelles are almost always windy, (westerlies) and so is the coast around Alexandroupoli, (northerlies).

I don't know specifically about Limnos but it is within that weather system. There is a greek windsurfing forum and there are some Turkish windsurfers east of Canakale. It might be worth hunting around the net a bit.

PS. It warms up really quickly in May
