    Default New Northumbrian Windsurfing Website

    Hi all,

We have just launched our new website (www.northumbrianwindsurfing.com) and thought you may be interested in taking a look.

The club itself has been running for nearly 20 years. In early 2012 we decided the website needed a much needed re-design and as a club member, passionate windsurfer and owner of a local web design company, I offered our help in designing and building the new site.

Along with a fresh new feel we decided to address a few things along the way. One of those things was to bring together the local inland windsurfing club and our own members who mainly sail at the coast. The site is now completely free to use and hopefully caters for existing members, returning members, sailors visiting the area and newbies young and old who may be tempted by the darkside that is Kitesurfing.

The new site now has a new forum, galleries, comprehensive location and sailing guide for the North-East, regular weather updates and various social media utilizing our Facebook, Twitter and You Tube presence. Look out for site changing colour every time it is refreshed or a page loaded according to the live wind feed for Newcastle!

Hopefully our story and website provide some inspiration to other clubs around the UK thinking of starting a similar thing.

    Cheers and be gentle.

site looks great... some excellent pictures, love the one of Timo by JC

best bit is the wind strength colour theme though... tells you when it's time to stop looking on line and get down to the beach!

Yeah if the winds no good here on the East coast we can guarantee its working over there. Workington, Allonby, Gatehouse of Fleet etc. Its only a couple of hours.

Where abouts in Cumbria do you sail?

Really nice job on the website - the location guide is fantastic. Love the wind direction / difficulty grading. Who made the site and what implementation? If you don't mind me asking.

Cheers Rod. It was done by my company www.unionroom.com. Its all bespoke a part from the PHPBB forum and the various 3rd party feeds on the home page.
