tenerife wind
hey folks,
does anyone know which is the most reliable forecast for Tenerife?
I fancy going there short notice, so need the best / most reliable forecast to watch. Does anyone favour any over the others,
thanks.

In my experience the most accurate one is MuchoViento, but it's only for the next three days.
This one on the German surf Centre uses the same data for those three days, and then uses the longer range model to give a forecast for up to 16 days. But I wouldn't trust it beyond say five days away.
The other one I look at is Wind Guru. It uses the same model, but interprets the data slightly differently.
In general I'd say that for the normal NEly trade winds, in summer, you can be reasonably sure for about a week ahead, and then very sure when you get within the MuchoViento time frame.
El Medano is great for a quick trip on a good forecast as there are lots of flights, and we are only 15 minutes from the airport. So if you're hiring from OTC, you can be on the water in let's say about 5 hours after leaving Gatwick.
Hope that helps, and maybe see you here.Last edited by Silicon Beach; 26th June 2012 at 04:36 PM.

Mistral M84 Twinzer for Sale. Needs a repair, but a deal can be done and this classic board should see some more waves. Send me an e-mail or PM for details. Also various used Tushingham Rocks (4.2, 4.7, 5.2, 5.7) going cheap. Need to collect from El Medano.
