Forced to sell up all my gear, Moving Inland!
Hi All,
I have just landed a great job in Derby and can no longer justify keeping my already under-used kit. As much as the thought of no longer being a Windsurfer sadens me deeply, reservoirs just don't have quite the same alure as the Solent or open Sea!
Sorry to plug in the general area but I have just listed all my gear in the For Sale/Wanted section and some of it is also on Board Seeker.
Of particular not are my 92L Synchro and 6.5M Tushinham Storm which are both in Immaculate condition having only ever been out of their bags twice, Ialso have a really nice Predator Carbon boom in great condition.
Full details and prices can be found in this thread http://forums.boards.mpora.com/showt...239#post904239
For Photos or to arrange a viewing please E-mail me on ticker.hart@ntlworld.com All gear is in Lee-On-The-Solent 5 mins from the beach.
Cheers,
Will.

They that go down to the sea in ships, and occupy their business in great waters. These men see the works of the Lord; and his wonders in the deep.

not me, but a sailor yesterday at the 750 acre reservoir- Draycote... 53 miles from Derby

if you do want to sell up then fair enough, it's not for everyone; but there are options. PM if you would like a tour / guest pass before dumping your kit at stupid prices.Jimbo

If it’s not for you, then fair enough sell it. Otherwise, if it not too late already why not hang onto your kit for now (assuming room for storage) and see whether you use it when you’re there? I doubt you’ll get a great deal for it all anyway and it would be a lot more expensive to get back into windsurfing later.
Derby’s not that far from some great venues. Carsington Water would also be pretty close for you and offers decent bump and jump conditions in a blow (once past the island).
I live in Sheffield and regularly sail at the coast (as do plenty of others in S Yorks / Derbyshire). The Bridlington area (1:45 for me) has got several options, Fraisthorpe being the most popular. Hunstanton isn’t too far and I can get up to Redcar in 1:40.On the west coast, Leasowe / West Kirby is about 1:40 away and Rhosneigr (2:40 for me) is very double for a day and often the windiest place in the country! That lot covers most wind directions and water states. The Juiceboardsports forum is pretty well used these days and will direct you to where others will be sailing.
Living inland where you have to travel means you go to the best place on the day and so get plenty of variety, which keeps it interesting. I’ve sailed at 9 different venues this year, nearly all as day trips.
