windsurfing has just been cancelled...
well that got your attention.. ISAF have just sunk the RSX and Olympic Windsurfing as this years games in Weymouth will be the last time that windsurfing will feature.
from 2016 Kitesurfing will replace it.

Yep, just seen the link on Facebook, a sad say for all the youth sailors that aspired to the Olympics.
2013 Sessions: Speed/Slalom 10, B&J/Wave 14, SUP/WindSUP 00
2012 Sessions: Speed/Slalom 30, B&J/Wave 25, SUP 02

A new beginning for the sport, no longer will it be seen as a boring sport, probably the best thing that could have happened!
Sessions 2013: Windsurfing - 10, Surfing - 5, SUP - 13, Snowboarding - none yet...

seems quite a ridiculous decision in a lot of ways, but if there is to be a silver lining from it maybe it will give the windsurfing industry a chance to hit the reset button with regard to racing.

inevitable... there was a big IKA lobby, back by Richard Branson among others.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the board shorts clash with the chinos down at RYA House

My concern would be for T15/Onboard. If the funding for that should stop because of this decision then is could make thinkgs awkward.
